About Us


Cable Wakeboarding NZ Incorporated society has been formed as a division of the NZ Waterski Association and the International Watersking & Wakeboarding Federation (IWWF). The first Cable National Championships held in the Onehunga Bay Reserve on June 26 th 2016 attracted international riders major sponsorship and media attention. It was broadcast Live on Sky Sports 4, Garage TV and supported by Huraki Radio and NZME.

As per the constitution of the Society the objectives of the Association are:

  1. To provide a national association for those involved in, or interested in the sport of cable wakeboarding in New Zealand.
  2. To encourage participation in the sport of cable wakeboarding in New Zealand
  3. To promote and develop the sport of cable wakeboarding in New Zealand
  4. To encourage, and foaof regional cable wakeboarding clubs and groupings within New Zealand
  5. To liaise with, and where possible co-operate and work with, cable wakeboarding clubs and organizations in other parts of the world
  6. To run a series of cable wakeboarding events and competitions, and, from time to time, international and national championships for cable wakeboarding in New Zealand
  7. To select wakeboarders to represent New Zealand at domestic, overseas and international , cable wakeboarding events
  8. To work with, and if appropriate affiliate to, organizations whose purposes and aims are deemed by the Association to coincide with, or be compatible with, the other Objects of the Association
  9. To sponsor, encourage, or promote all of the foregoing Objects
  10. To promote swim safe practices and educate young people on the risk of swimming in open water.
